We have expanded the AQUA Drill EX series, carbide drills for high-accuracy, high-efficient hole drilling that are highly valued for the series, increasing the share in the drill market.

In March 2015, we introduced to the market the SG Tap series, high-performance taps with powder HSS and SG coating, and the N Tap series, general-purpose taps with good cost performance and long tool lives. By optimizing the overall process from pilot hole drilling to internal thread processing, we have responded to a variety of needs for processing and have enjoyed a good reputation.

Now we have introduced the AQUA Drill EX Power Feed, drills that break down the barrier of convention with super high-speed processing and the Hyper Z Tap series, a new category of evolved taps that have achieved excellent stability and incredible, long tool lives to the market. We propose better processing in the hole drilling process than ever before, from pilot hole drilling to internal thread processing, completely solving the our customer’s problems.

At the site for processing automotive parts, general machine parts, etc., hole drilling is performed in large numbers with machining centers and NC lathes every day and the needs for high-feed processing and the stability of tools have been increasing to improve productivity. In particular, with low-rigidity machines, there can be issues with machine stoppage due to overloading during high-feed processing and a lower degree of processing accuracy. In addition, for processing with a lathe, in which chips are more likely to be jammed into the drill groove, the need for tool stability through the improvement of chip evacuation and longer tool lives.

NACHI-Fujikoshi has added to the lineup the AQUA Drill EX Power Feed, which has achieved both stable processing performance in super high-feed processing and a long tool life with excellent chip evacuation. We propose the improvement of productivity and cost reduction with the performance of our new product that revolutionizes conventional ideas.

1. Super high-feed processing

By optimizing the shape of the cutting edge and substantially reducing the load in drilling process, super high-feed processing has been achieved that is 2 to 3 times faster than normal. In addition, stable performance is available even for low-rigidity machining centers and NC lathes.

2. Excellent chip evacuation

By optimizing the drill flute geometry, chip evacuation has greatly been improved. Even for processing with a lathe, in which the drill has no function for evacuating chips generated by the rotation of the drill itself, and chips are more likely to be jammed, excellent chip evacuation has been achieved.

3. Long tool life, high accuracy

With the reduction of the load in processing with a drill and the improvement of chip evacuation, a longer tool life of 2 to 3 times the number of cutting holes processed in super high-feed processing has been achieved compared with the drills of other brands.

In tap processing, during the final step of hole drilling, issues such as a broken tap due to the entangling of chips and poor accuracy of internal threads, make it difficult to remove the tap or repair the product, and huge waste is generated not only for product loss, but also for waste in the preceding process. Therefore, achieving stable accuracy and a long tool life is an unending challenge.

NACHI-Fujikoshi has collectively utilized its technology from the development of materials, heat treatment, grinding, and surface treatment. We also apply our technology of gear cutters and broaches, developing and launching a brand-new category of taps, Hyper Z Tap.

General users for parts processing

1. Excellent stability

Through the optimization of cutting edge through the analysis of the cutting mechanism and the wear of tap processing, the accuracy of internal threads has been improved and excellent chip evacuation has been achieved. Even at the range of cutting speed (15 to 20 m/min), at which stable processing cannot be achieved with general-purpose taps from other companies, abnormal wear, or entangling of chips does not occur, and stable processing with limited fluctuations in accuracy and tool life has been achieved.

2. Incredible long tool life

By collectively utilizing our seeds of technology and achieving excellent defect resistance and wear resistance, at low to medium speeds (5 to 20 m/min), which is generally used in the market, our series has achieved a long tool life with 2 to 3 times the number of cutting holes compared with the general-purpose taps from other brands, enabling a far longer tool life than that of the coated taps from other brands.
